SESSIONS STRUCTURE
KEY NOTES
By invitation of the Program Committee to experts of recognized tenure of their field.
ONE KEY NOTE SPEAKER FOR EACH THEMATIC LINE TO BE CONFIRMED
I. SYMPOSIA (Submit symposia)
The symposia represent an opportunity to examine a subject in depth from different perspectives. In each symposium, several participants (4 papers maximum) present their contributions on a thematic line, proposing different alternatives, interpretations, or contrasting several research results. The total duration of each symposium will be 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The proposals for symposium presentations will have to include:
-
Title of the symposium
-
The proposed thematic line in which the symposium would be included
-
Abstract of the symposium subject and contents (maximum 250 words)
-
Title and synopsis of each presentation (which must fulfill the characteristics indicated for papers; see below, i.e. synopses have a maximum limit of 1000 words).
-
Name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail of the organizer and the authors
The coordinator of the symposium must submit the four papers and the 250-words abstract defining the global contribution of the symposium
It may be the case that the symposium is not accepted in the conference. In such case, it is possible that some of the individual contributions are accepted for their presentation in the format of Paper Presentation.
In addition, the observations in section “IV. FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS”, have to be considered.
II. PAPER PRESENTATIONS (Submit paper)
These are thematic sessions in which the accepted communications will be grouped, based on the proposed thematic axes.
The author of each communication will make a brief presentation (15 minutes). Once the presentations are made, there will be a space for the discussion of the subjects proposed by the authors.
The contributions must include:
-
Title of the paper.
-
The proposed thematic line in which the paper would be included.
-
-
5 key words or descriptors
-
-
Name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail of the authors.
It may be the case that the Academic Program Commission considers that the work must appear in “poster” format.
In addition, the observations in section “IV. FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS”, have to be considered.
III. POSTERS (Sumbit poster)
Posters are graphical presentations of a specific work. Investigations in progress are accepted. The posters will be grouped in sessions by the Academic Program Committee.
The maximum size of the posters will be 90 cm. wide and 120 cm. tall. During the time of exhibition of the poster, at least one of the authors will have to be present to explain and discuss the content of it with the participants.
The proposals for the presentation of posters will have to include:
-
Title of the poster.
-
The proposed thematic line in which the poster would be included.
-
-
-
5 key words or descriptors.
-
Name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail of the authors.
In addition, the observations in section “IV. FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS”, have to be considered.
IV. FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
Both for empirical as well as for theoretical papers, the next aspects will be taken into account for evaluation:
-
The clarity of the objectives of the paper;
-
The innovative or novelty character;
-
The fine-tuning to the proposed thematic line; and
-
The contribution of new knowledge in the area or the deep and well documented theoretical reflection.
The modality in which it is desired to participate must be indicated: Symposium, Communication or Poster.
Altogether, it will only be possible to submit one symposium and/or contribution (communication or poster) as first author. The coordinator of the symposium can only be first author of one of the papers presented in a given symposium. A maximum of three participations will be accepted in symposia, communications or posters as co-author.
Subsequent to the title, the data of author(s) and contact address must be included. All contributions must be submitted in electronic format, using Microsoft Word processor, font Times New Roman, size 12, and simple interlineal spacing.
V. WORKSHOPS
Workshops are discussions about a specific applied matter or subject. These discussions are destined to provide themes of special relevance for professionals, researchers, students and participants in general; they will also allow identifying future perspectives in practice and applied research. A keynote speaker will be in charge of the practical activities in the workshops.
