OBJECTIVES

1. CONFERENCE SCOPE

It will be an international conference, with the following characteristics:

a) It will gather the most outstanding researchers and academics in ICT mediated education, covering all the school levels and modalities; i.e., open, distance, informal, classroom, and online education.

b) It will analyze practices, challenges and real possibilities of application of ICT in classrooms in the ‘Knowledge Society’.

c) It will summon developing companies and institutions of ICT and software for education of all school levels and modalities.

d) It will invite teachers and groups of students to share successful experiences in the application of ICT and community organization, as well as networks of learning and teaching mediated by ICT.

2. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

• To identify the state-of-the-art in innovation and the use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education.
• To share successful experiences in innovation and use of ICT in education.
• To identify the most important challenges for the application of ICT in education in Mexico, Latin America, and worldwide.
• To exhibit the most updated ICT developments applied to education.

3. ADDRESSED TO:

Teachers, researchers, and head teachers of basic, secondary, and higher education, as well as teacher trainers in continuous education, from public and private institutions worldwide

Professors, researchers and students in the areas of education, social development, and knowledge society; and

Public, in general, interested in these subjects.

4. MODALITY AND ORGANIZATION

Venue: Cintermex

At distance: Some key notes will be broadcasted through the Virtual University of the Tecnológico de Monterrey to Mexico, Latin America and other countries.

The Conference will be composed by a series of key notes, workshops, as well as simultaneous symposia with communications by researchers, teachers and professors about best practices of the application of ICT to education, selected by referees following this call for papers. 

In addition, the Conference will include an exhibition of state-of-the-art companies and institutions developing Information and Communication Technology in the field of Education.

October 8th – 12th, 2007. Two days for workshops (October 8th and 9th), and three days of Symposia and Paper and Poster presentations (October 10th – 12th).

The conference will be divided in the in the following activities:

a) Workshops of ICT best practices in classrooms, and other innovative practices.

b) Key notes by recognized academic guests.

c) Communications by researchers and professors ICT mediated best practices of the application of ICT in education. 

d) Meeting of teachers and students, members of networked learning systems and communities.

e) Exhibition of developing companies of ICT applied to education.
