Innovation and Research Network in Education in Northeastern Mexico (REDIIEN)
REDIIEN is an initiative from different institutions oriented to carry out educational research. Its mission is to promote educational research through joint projects and the dissemination of results helping to the construction of knowledge in Northeastern Mexico, as well as the advance of the Mexican educational system, and the suggestions of solid pedagogical alternatives at international level.
REDIIEN members include: CIESAS-Monterrey, Cinvestav Monterrey, North Regional Committee for Cooperation with UNESCO, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Autonomous University of Nuevo León, University of Monterrey, Universidad Regiomontana, and UPN-Monterrey.

TO BE HELD IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE UNIVERSAL FORUM OF CULTURES MONTERREY 2007
The term "Technology and Educational Innovation", as part of the name of the Conference aims to present the technological developments applied to all levels and modalities of education, as well as the methods and procedures that have been proved and that are regularly applied in classrooms in Mexico, and at an international level.
Especially, the Conference name recognizes educational trends that are of daily use in classrooms and other scenarios of social interaction, or that, with all probability, will be of common use in the near future. More specifically, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which is one of the foundations and unavoidable characteristic of the construction of the denominated ‘Knowledge Society’ or ‘Information Society’, form part of agendas and projects of governmental agencies and civil associations of all continents, which are in need of rigorous and punctual investigation.
